The conference on Smart infrastructure took place in Kiev last Friday at “Olimpiyskiy” National Sport Complex. About 200 participants and market experts, Siemens business representatives, partners and contractors visited the conference.

Opening the conference, Maciej Zielinski, General Director of Siemens Ukraine spoke about the reasons of a new department creation, about global trends – urbanization, demographic changes, climate changes and digitalization — which determine the development direction
of a modern infrastructure. “Smart infrastructure” department gathers the subdivisions, which deal with current issues of urbanization regarding construction, decentralized power supply systems and power supply infrastructure. Buildings become more and more hi-tech and
mutually connected. The don’t just consume power, they also accumulate and distribute it. There connection with power network becomes stronger by means of power and data exchange. Networks become more and more distributed. “A network doesn’t end up somewhere at the plant or in the residential building – it becomes their part”, — Maciej Zielinski noted. Denis Mironenko, Director of “Smart Infrustructure” department spoke on the main business directions. This new department combines power systems and construction technologies: starting from the network smart control, middle voltage distribution systems and a wide range of low voltage equipment and start-control devices.
More then 10 speaker of SI team stressed on digitalization of networks, changes and transformation in power networks and buildings supervision, about the things we are going to face.

The venue was not a random choice. Siemens Ukraine together with “Transexpo”, its partner participated in the stadium renovation during the preparation to football championship of Euro 2012. They supplied a modern and power saving Desigo hardware and software complex for monitoring and control of ventilation and AC systems, illumination, power distribution and other systmes. To ensure the fire safety, Synova analogue addressable fire alarm system was installed, which is known as outstandingly reliable, flexible for installation, tuning and operation.
